Those who predicted that Adobe GoLive will be phased out during the Adobe-Macromedia acquisition are probably starting a psychic hotline right now. With Adobe’s Creative Suite 2.3, their updated version of Creative Suite 2, Dreamweaver has supplanted GoLive as the suite’s web authoring tool.
The acquisition really raised questions regarding the redundancy of the products of Adobe and Macromedia. The general opinion was that the weaker tool in one domain will eventually get the axe. In his case, the web authoring tool space was occupied by Dreamweaver and GoLive. Dreamweaver’s popularity and market dominance ensured its place in the Adobe stable.
Interesting enough, now I’m wondering how this will affect the Adobe certification track?
