Corporate Communications 2.0: Corporate Blogging Raises PhP 19,500 for Charity

I am very pleased to announce that the recent event that I organized, Corporate Communications 2.0: Corporate Blogging was able to raise PhP19,500 for GILAS Project of the Ayala Foundation.

The amount raised is quite far from Warren Buffet’s $37 billion assist to the Gates Foundation, but events like these does help a worthy cause. The GILAS Project is an initiative that aims to set-up internet access to public schools all over the Philippines and provide basic training to the schools’ staff. I really like the return loop of my project– a seminar about blogging which benefits another project that aims to connect poor schools to the web & hopefully introduce them to the blogosphere.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Ayala Foundation, Digital Filipino, the AIM Conference Center – Manila, the AIM MBA Program, Jayvee Fernandez from the Blog Bank, Andrian Lee of AsiaPay, Hans Koch of Syndeo Media, John Anthony Ray and everybody who attended the seminar-workshop. I’ve been encouraged by the outcome of this event that I’m contemplating to follow it up with another one. What do you think?
