I just realized that during the almost three years of existence of this blog, I have never posted a blog post during my birthday. Perhaps I was busy celebrating or doing something else, but the fact that I was able to post something today means that the web has figured much into my life.

A good example is how people greeted me today. Before, there was the phone call, then came greetings via SMS or text messaging. Now, I got greetings from friends via email, instant messaging and several social networking sites such as Friendster, Facebook and Orkut. There’s also the auto-generated greetings from some websites I subscribe to.

I would say I got the most greetings today than any of my past birthdays. Thanks to a growing circle of friends and networks and to technology.
