Last November 23 at the Teatrino in Promenade, Greenhills, the best websites were honored at the 10th Philippine Web Awards. The awards is the longest-running awards for the best works in the Web, as well as the blogosphere. One of the highlight sof this year’s awards is the recognition of Accessibility for government websites.
I’ve served as a judge for the awards for the last seven years and I’ve seen the winners evolve and be more attuned to what a good contemporary website is all about. I’ve also seen good sites get snubbed and questionable sites bagging the award in the last few years, but the Philippine Web Awards is what the Philippine web industry has as its most prestigious accolade, so winning it is really a big deal.
