Nikki Coseteng

Change is good, right? Well, not really for Nikki Coseteng. I initially visited her website before and this is how the homepage looked like:

Nikki Coseteng

Too bad, I really thought the old version was better. But on to the review:

  1. Uncontrollable Media – Is this the trend right now? The campaign jingle loads whenever you open a page. Just plain annoying.
  2. Clean Design – The design is clean and Web 2.0-ish but…
  3. Tables abound – I was bit disappointed the design still had to use tables.
  4. Content – I also have an issue with the way a majority of the site content is written–most of the articles are not web-friendly (too long).
  5. Weak Homepage – I believe the homepage is under-utilized and the statement Ms. Coseteng published could have been truncated. More content on her platform should have been itemized.
  6. Loading time -Another good thing I noticed is the speed of the site loading. Perhaps this is because of the caching of the CMS?
  7. Bad Move – Ultimately, I would say the web staff of Nikki Coseteng made a lapse in judgment in altering the old site. The old site had more personality and better configured over-all.

After being out of the Senate for six years, Nikki Coseteng figured she still had the fight in her to vie for a Senate seat. But in being out of the “Magic 12″ in the recent SWS and Pulse Asia polls, she should have realized she needed all her weapons in her arsenal to mount a successful campaign– and that includes her website.
